Why does the nozzle rotate only when the vacuum cleaner
is switched on?
For safety reasons, the nozzle does not rotate unless negative
pressure is applied to the sieve and the cover is closed.
Can several sieves be mounted on top of each other
in the same way as a »sieve tower«?
No, the smallest sieve is used first and is then removed
and replaced with the next largest one and so on until all
the sieves have been used.
How can I change the language and other settings?
The menu can be activated via the numerical keypad: press
2001 and the space bar. See also P.42 in the instructions.
How can electrostatic charging of the cover be avoided?
Use an antistatic agent, e.g. microdispersed aluminium oxide.
How long does the sieving process take?
There are no hard and fast rules, but it usually takes between
2 and 4 minutes per sieve.
Can I also sieve sticky or moist materials that tend
to agglomerate?
Yes, by making use of sieving aids such as Aerosiel or microdispersed
silica. We also recommend working with a negative pressure
of between 4000 and 5000 Pa.
How often must the sieves be cleaned and what is the
procedure?
Visually inspect the sieves and clean as and when necessary.
Either brush them carefully to remove residues or ideally,
clean them in an ultrasound bath.
Is it possible to recover the sieved fines?
Yes, the fines can be collected in an ALPINE GAZ 125 cyclone
and then used for other analyses.
Is the LS-PRO software program compatible for use with
Windows 2000 or XP?
Yes, LS-PRO is compatible with all of the following operating
systems: Windows 98, ME, CE, 2000, NT, XP.
What are the system requirements to permit installation
of LS-PRO on a PC?
Naturally, ALPINE's own PC package would be the best, but
otherwise, we recommend Pentium 100 and higher with two
unassigned serial interfaces.
Can I also make special requests when ordering?
Yes, of course. We will always try our best to fulfil your
wishes.
